Quilted fabric, screen print with design replicated from infant jacket, buttons, lace trim, cotton ribbing, red ribbon 54” x 27”
An adult scale replication of the baby garment that I was wearing when I was adopted. The replica was produced through an extensive process of material sourcing, fabric dyeing, screen printing, pattern drafting, and sewing. Throughout the production process, the piece began to deviate further and further from the original baby garment–resulting in a material exploration between the past and the present.
